I have been through a recent season of being scared, overwhelmed and grieving the loss of so much in my life.
I am a teacher in Oxford, where the horrific school shooting took place in November. I’ve been inundated with traumatic anxiety as I had a previous student kill another student and a nephew murdered in his home by a random shooting. I’m not certain if I have the strength to teach anymore, which I thought was my calling. I’m constantly afraid.
In addition, I’m deeply concerned about my mother and her recent fall and her rapidly changing dementia. She’s been agitated and is not following doctor orders, putting my dad in such stress and affecting his 90 year old body, mind and heart.
I am also concerned about my daughter, who’s still overtaken by her father’s ways of controlling her. She’s now taken a turn where she’s broken up with her boyfriend, changed her appearance and exploring different orientations.
Please help my to feel secure and help my to feel God first. I know I’m dealing with abandonment issues and feel all this is my fault somehow (as that’s what I’ve come to expect life’s unexpected turns).
I know prayers will ease my heart and God will be here…for all of us!
